The LSM 510 Meta NLO is a high-end modular confocal system. In addition to being equipped with a laser module with multiple laser lines for excitation of the most commonly used fluorophores, it is capable of spectral fluorescence analysis (“spectral fingerprinting”) using a polychromatic detector. In addition, the system is able to perform advanced molecular analytical techniques such as FRET (Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer), FLIM (Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging), FRAP (Fluorescence Recovery After Photo-bleaching) and can be equipped for TIRF (Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence). The equipment allows advanced 4D-physiological measurements in cells and tissues and suitable software modules ensure that sophisticated morpho-metric analysis can be performed.
