Roche 454-GS Junior DNA sequencing platform

Model:
454-GS Junior DNA sequencing platform
Manufacturer:
Supplier:
Roche 454-GS Junior DNA sequencing platform

The 454-GS Junior DNA Sequencing Platform is focussed on small scale high-throughput DNA sequencing as opposed to the high volume sequencing capacity of the standard systems. The system produces approximately 80000 sequence reads per sequencing run at a cost reduction of approximately 75%. Each of these runs can accomodate up to 5 different samples, reducing the cost per sequence read. The low cost and flexibility of the equipment will therefore make pyrosequencing technology affordable for small and diverse research groups who are not engaged in large genome sequencing projects. In addition to the Roche GS Junior sequencing instrument, the platform is fully equipped with ancillary equipment required for sample preparation as well as computer workstations with software appropriate for analysis of pyrosequencing.
