SYNAPT G2TM HDMSTM System is a hybrid quadrupole IMS orthogonal acceleration time-of-flight (oa-Tof) mass spectrometer providing high resolution, accurate mass performance and the option to combine this with high-efficiency ion mobility separations in the TRIWAVETM region of the mass spectrometer. The system employs QuanTof Technology which combines an innovative high field pusher and dual-stage reflectron designed in a folded TOF geometry. The SYNAPT G2 HDMS system can operate in the following modes: Sensitivity Mode, Resolution mode and High Resolution mode. MSE acquisition allows accurate mass precursor and fragment ion data to be obtained in a single acquisition. The system comes with an atmospheric pressure ionization ESCi interface with probe for sample ionization. The source has with a dual electrospray inlet which is used to supply reference compound separately from the analyte spray with selection between sprays achieved via a rotating baffle. The source spraying elements with a nebulized spray is orientated orthogonally and positioned off axis for maximum source longevity and analyzer protection. The source also includes facilities for de-clustering ions formed at atmospheric pressure. There is a cone gas facility for chemical noise reduction and an integrated syringe pump for direct infusions. Positive and negative ion capability is included. All source voltages are under data system control through Masslynx 4.1 software. The system is coupled either to a UPLC or a nano UPLC liquid chromatograph.
