Micromeritics ASAP 2020 Surface Area and Pore Analysis

Surface area and porosity are two important physical properties that determine the quality and utility of many materials. Differences in the surface area and porosity of particles within a material can greatly influence its performance characteristics. The all-new, fully automated ASAP 2020 Accelerated Surface Area and Porosimetry System is an essential tool for providing surface area and porosity measurements for a broad range of applications such as pharmaceuticals, ceramics, carbons, catalysts, paint & coatings, propellants, electronics, cosmetics, and aerospace materials.

Micromeritics Autopore III Mercury Porosimeter

A Micromeritics Autopore III mercury porosimeter can be used to measure the percolation characteristics of samples. It measures the porosity and void size distribution from calculating a two dimensional approximation assuming a series of aligned cylinders, with sizes based on the Laplace equation. The maximum applied pressure of mercury for the porosimeter is 414 MPa (60 000 psia), equivalent to a Laplace throat diameter of 0.004.

Micromeritics ASAP2020 Chemisorption

The Micromeritics Chemical adsorption (chemisorption) analysis techniques provide much of the information necessary to evaluate catalyst materials in the design and production phases, as well as after a period of use. Catalytic activity is evaluated by measuring the amounts and types of reactive gas adsorbed. This volume of gas, along with an understanding of the reaction stoichiometry, is used to calculate metal dispersion, active surface area, size of crystallites, and surface acidity.

Micromeritics Mercury Porosimeter

Mercury porosimetry is an extremely useful characterization technique for porous materials. Pores between about 500 µm and 35 nm can be investigated. It provides a wide range of information, e.g. the pore size distribution, the total pore volume or porosity, the skeletal and apparent density and the specific surface area of a sample.
