The 1-m Elizabeth telescope was built by Grubb Parsons in 1964 and erected orginally in Cape Town. The telescope has the following specifications: Cassegrain Focus: f/16, ~12.94 arcsec/mm (CCD) Instrumentation: SAAO CCD Camera, UCT CCD Photometer Accessories: Offset-guider and acquisition box, Autoguider Baffle System: 8' Diameter unobstructed field at Cassegrain Finder: 100mm f/10 refractor.
The 1.9-m Radcliffe telescope was built by Grubb Parsons in 1938-48 for the Radcliffe Observatory in Pretoria. It has a two-pier asymmetrical mounting.
