The VersaDoc MP 4000 is the ideal imager for proteomics studies, offering ultimate flexibility with the ability to image chemiluminescent western blots, Coomassie Blue-stained 1-D gels, SYPRO Ruby-stained 2-D gels, and multiplex or multifluorescent samples. It provides excellent resolution for collecting the finest details of every band and spot. Bio-Rad Chef Mapper

The CHEF Mapper system incorporates patented FIGE and AFIGE technologies for superior resolution in the range of 100 bp to 10 Mb, in addition to the features of the CHEF-DR II and the CHEF-DR III systems. The CHEF Mapper XA system also includes algorithms for deriving separation conditions. Each CHEF Mapper system is supplied with a power module, embedded auto-algorithm for protocol optimization, interactive algorithm program disk, electrophoresis cell, cooling module, variable-speed pump, and accessory kit.

The ChemiDoc XRS system is the most advanced chemiluminescence detection system in Bio-Rad’s gel documentation line. The system features flat fielding technology for superior uniformity and quantitation, and the flexibility to image chemiluminescent, fluorescent, and colorimetric. It also includes a supersensitive CCD, a light-tight compact darkroom, a slide-out transilluminator with preparative mode for added safety when manually visualizing samples.

Bio-Rad CHEF DR-III Electrophoresis System

The CHEF-DR III system separates large and small DNA fragments with better resolution, speed, and accuracy, than initial pulsed field methods. DNAs from 100 bases to over 10 megabases (mb) may be effectively resolved. For example, the chromosomal DNA of Schizosaccharomyces pombe can be resolved in 1 day using a 106° pulse angle, compared to 2 days at 120°. Everything from Yeast Artificial Chromosomes (YACs) to M13 inserts can be separated with a single instrument.
